The food was incredibly fresh.The broths were super flavorful and the meats for the grill were spot on. What really stood out, though, was the service. Even with the place being busy, the staff was attentive, super friendly, and never let our table run dry. On top of all that, the bill at the end was a very pleasant surprise. You get serious bang for your buck here compared to a lot of other places.

Went here for lunch on Monday. Not crowded. Price was reasonable considering you get both hotpot & BBQ AYCE. The vegetables were really fresh & the marinated meats were tender. Our broths were flavorful. Our server was awesome. He grilled & cut the meats for us. You order from a tablet & the robot delivers to your table. The server came & unload the robot. The wings from the hot bar were excellent. Love the exhaust fan being right over the gas grill.

Absolutely incredible dining experience. The combination of BBQ and hot pot makes it feel like two restaurants in one, and both sides deliver. The meats were fresh and high quality, and the shabu shabu broth was rich, comforting, and full of depth. The grilling at the table adds a fun, interactive element that makes the meal feel like an experience rather than just dinner. Staff was attentive and helpful with explaining everything, especially for first-timers. Great spot for groups, date night, or anyone who loves a long, slow, delicious meal where you get to cook, sip, and enjoy the whole process. Definitely coming back.

This Mother’s Day, I decided to take my parents to try Kanpai BBQ & Shabu Shabu for their all-you-can-eat hot pot and Korean BBQ. When we arrived, I realized the location used to be the old Hong Kong Supermarket — only longtime locals would probably remember that. The layout inside was pretty interesting. There was a Te’amos milk tea shop in the middle, Lao Szechuan on the right, and the hot pot & BBQ restaurant on the left. The staff greeted us warmly and quickly helped us get seated. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was that they offered freshly made milk teas and fruit teas instead of bottled drinks. The drinks were decent and refreshing, especially for balancing out the richness of the meal. Each person gets their own mini hot pot, which I really liked because everyone could customize their own soup base and ingredients. We chose a variety of broths including mushroom, spicy mala, tomato, and herbal soup. Using the iPad ordering system, we basically ordered one of everything from both the hot pot and BBQ menus. We came in around 4, right when we were told they started transitioning into dinner service. The place was clean, and at the time we were actually the only customers there, which made for a relaxed experience. Our server (we unfortunately forgot his name, but he was a Black gentleman) was really great—very attentive and checked up on us multiple times throughout the meal. The food overall was good, with a wide variety of selections to choose from, which we appreciated. The ordering process was smooth and efficient using the touchscreen, and our food came out quickly—even being delivered by a robot server, which was a cool touch. There were a few downsides. The hot bar was a bit empty, and some of the items tasted a little stale. The booths were decent, but felt a bit too oily for comfort. On the positive side, the sauce bar was clean, well-stocked, and nicely organized.
